I'm Diana

It started with a 12-year-old girl, painful acne, and an esthetician named Liz who did something that went far beyond clearing her skin, she gave her back her confidence. That little girl was me. I never forgot what it felt like to sit in that treatment room and have someone believe in you when you couldn't do it yourself.

A few years later, I enrolled in esthetics school the summer after my junior year of high school. At 16, I earned my esthetics license in two months, went back to finish my senior year, graduated at 17, and earned my nail license shortly after. Then I sat down with a phone book, a yellow legal pad, and a dream I hadn't fully named yet. I called every salon and spa in my area, made a list of the ones that didn't offer skincare or nail services, wrote myself a commission-based proposal, got dressed up, grabbed my briefcase, and drove myself to every single one of them. At the fourth stop, a small salon tucked into a plaza, a woman said yes.

That was 34 years ago. I had no clientele, no experience, and no roadmap. What I did have was the willingness to bet on myself before I had any proof I should. That moment became the foundation of everything I would spend the next three decades building, teaching, and living.

The Journey

I became a single mother at 21 and made the decision that changed everything: I enrolled full-time at Florida College of Natural Health, drove an hour each way every single day, worked part-time, and studied until midnight, graduating with A's and an Associate's Degree in Paramedical Skincare. Because my son deserved more, and so did I.

That degree led me to work alongside plastic surgeons, which led me to a single Dermalogica class that redirected my entire career. I applied to become a post-graduate educator with Dermalogica / International Dermal Institute, taught myself PowerPoint in five days, booked my own flight to Torrance, California, presented to a panel of educators, and was interviewed by multiple managers and educators. I flew home on a red-eye and waited. A week later, I got the call. I got the job.

From there I became the Educational Leader for the Skincare Program, Cultural Coach and Mentor at Paul Mitchell, The School, writing state board and post-graduate curriculum, creating the national skincare career path that had never existed for educators across the country, earning my PTL status (Partner Learning Leader), and coaching and mentoring multiple schools across the U.S., doing the work of my life. Then my daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy and began having seizures daily. I gave two months' notice, cried for a month, and left, because my children always came first.

The Strength Behind the Work

While I was building all of this, I was also fighting. I spent over six and a half years in and out of courtrooms after leaving a domestic violence marriage, all while raising two children, both of whom would go on to be diagnosed with epilepsy. My daughter's diagnosis came first, while I was still at Paul Mitchell. Then, when my son was 12 years old, he had three consecutive seizures that left doctors uncertain how he had survived. He is now 28 years old, still living with epilepsy, but thriving and I am endlessly grateful.

Over a span of 15 years, I volunteered first at a domestic abuse shelter, then with the Epilepsy Foundation, and for 9 years with the Victim Advocate program at a local police department, sitting with women in their darkest moments and reminding them they were worth fighting for.

I know what it feels like to hold your life together with both hands while it tries to fall apart. I know what it takes to show up anyway. And I know, because I have lived it, that writing down your goals, repeating who you want to become, doing the inner work alongside the outer strategy, and refusing to stop believing in yourself actually works. Every dream I wrote down came true. Every single one.

After 34 years in this industry as an esthetician, studio owner, medical spa director, educator, curriculum writer, cultural coach and mentor,I kept witnessing the same heartbreak: brilliant, skilled, passionate beauty professionals who simply did not believe in themselves. They were undercharging, burning out, not rebooking, not retailing, and doubting abilities that were genuinely exceptional.

I created the Inside-Out Confidence & Career Mentorship because the tools I used to build three dream careers, mindset work, goal writing, vision setting, affirmations, and strategic thinking are the same tools I want to place directly into your hands. This is not a quick fix. This is real transformation, built over 12 weeks, one intentional step at a time.
